In 1987 I took part in a workshop in Warsaw held by Sławomir Bubicz and taught by a world-renowned yoga teacher from Italy, Gabriella Giubillaro. At that time I had been struggling with back pain for over a year having consulted numerous doctors and having been told that … I would suffer from pain forever. During the five-day practice I felt how tense and limited my body was. I learnt that I could and should practice as much and as often as possible. That actually saved me.
It was in 1998 when I started practising yoga under the eye of an experienced teacher. It was a two-week retreat with a daily three-hour practice during which my body was stretching and opening. After I came back home I felt and knew that I needed and wanted to do it every day.
The secrets of yoga were revealing themselves to me at regular classes and workshops by teachers from Poland and other countries. Among them were Jurek Jagucki and Konrad Kocot (Poland), Gabriella Giubillaro (Italy), Faeq Biria (France), Gita Iyengar (India), Lois Steinberg (USA), Stephanie Quirk (New Zealand).
In 2004 I spent two months at Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute In Pune, India when I was deepening my practice under the eyes of Guruji B.K.S.Iyengar and his children Gita and Prashant Iyengar.
After returning home I started teaching yoga and a year later opened my own yoga studio, Anahata.
In 2006 I spent another two months at RIMYI in Pune practising yoga and translating B.K.S.Iyengar’s “Light on Life” into Polish. The book was published in December 2006 by Galaktyka.
In 2007 I got a diploma Introductory II in Iyengar Yoga and a year later I became a qualified instructor of physical recreation (psychophysical method).
At Anahata, my yoga studio, I personally teach regular classes, weekend workshops and seven day retreats. Yoga practice takes place in a warm and friendly atmosphere and cosy conditions. Working in small groups allows me to better know the students, give them more attention and adjust the postures to the individual needs and abilities.
I am deeply grateful to all my students for their trust and faith in me, their perseverance and their making me become who I am now.
